Alumni celebrate historic achievements
Dan Addison
More than two dozen alumni recently returned to Grounds to commemorate their role in desegregating the University of Virginia during the 1950s and ’60s. These trailblazing alumni enjoyed a September weekend of sharing memories and celebrating accomplishments. Events included a panel discussion, a “Slave to Scholar” guided tour about the history of African Americans at UVA, and a reception at Carr’s Hill.
