Mason elected players’ union VP

After serving on the executive committee of the NBA players union for the past four years, Roger Mason Jr. was elected vice president of the union. Mason (Arch ’03), who currently plays for the Miami Heat, has shot 38 percent from three-point range during his NBA career.

First female president in Australian football league club

Peggy O’Neal Haines (Law ’76) was elected the first female president of an Australian Football League club. O’Neal, a lawyer, will preside over the Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers. She has lived in Australia for more than two decades.

Field hockey’s fall success

The field hockey team finished its regular season ranked third in the nation by the NCAA ratings percentage index with a 15-4 record. Fourth-year forward Elly Buckley (Col ’14) was named ACC player of the week twice this season, after scoring a hat trick and making her league-leading fifth save in a 4-3 win over 8th-ranked Duke in October.
