Daniel Joshua Wendell (Col ’16) of Roanoke, Virginia, and Charlottesville died July 28, 2021. During his fourth year at UVA, he established a business in Charlottesville, Automotive Aesthetic. He gained a national reputation working on many famous cars and dealing with celebrities who enjoyed his enthusiasm, honesty and mastery of his trade. An entrepreneur at heart, he began detailing cars in the family garage at age 12, began importing car products from England at age 13, and was featured in a Roanoke Times article at age 15. Family and friends described him as joyful, optimistic, generous and a humorous “old soul” who held himself to a high standard of integrity. Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Karla Wendell.
