Juliana T. Porter (Med ’17) of Norfolk, Virginia, died Oct. 4, 2015. At the University, she was a member of the Christian Medical Students Association. Ms. Porter volunteered at the Virginia Institute of Autism and assisted with research in pediatric neurology. She loved children and was interested in a career in pediatrics. Survivors include her father, Kent Porter (Col ’80); her mother; her fiancé; a sister; and a brother.

Paul Kim (Col ’18) of Reston, Virginia, died Jan. 12, 2016. At the University, he was a member of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship and active in the Johnson Malone Weedon Community Council. His academic interests included economics, finance and international business. Mr. Kim hoped to learn Korean so he could communicate in his family’s native language and become more familiar with his cultural heritage on future trips to Korea. He placed giving back to others above career success. He loved music, especially hip-hop. Survivors include his parents.
