Andrew Jasperson Lockhart (Col ’04, Law ’10 L/M) of Richmond, Virginia; London, England; and Greenwich, Connecticut; died September 30, 2016. While at the University, he lived on the Lawn and was a member of the Hoo Crew team and the Glee Club. Mr. Lockhart married in 2010 and moved to New York, where he was an associate with Clifford Chance, specializing in international transportation and development projects. He then moved to Richmond to work for Hunton & Williams, and later served a temporary assignment in its London office, specializing in international energy, infrastructure and project development law. Having the opportunity to work in London was a kind of homecoming for him, as Mr. Lockhart had grown up in England, and he made the move permanent in 2015. A brilliant lawyer who was loved by his clients, he will be remembered for his kind heart and positive attitude, an attitude that remained positive regardless of the challenge facing him. Music was also an important part of his life, and he was a member of the Eton College Chapel Choir. He was also an avid fan of UVA sports, cheering through all their triumphs and losses. His wife, Ashley Parke Lockhart, who gave birth to their second child the week of his death, was with him at the end, and he was able to make his last wish a reality by participating in the birth and baptism of their second daughter. Survivors include his wife and two daughters; his parents H. Eugene “Gene” Lockhart Jr. (Engr ’72, Darden ’74 L/M, former president of the Board of Managers) and Terry J. Lockhart (Col ’74 L/M); and sisters Charlotte Lockhart Margulies (Col ’10 L/M), Victoria Lockhart Katz (Col ’07) and Julia Lockhart Simon (Col ’02 L/M).

Carmen Michael Fanzone (Arch ’09) of Columbia, Maryland, died August 15, 2016. At the University, Mr. Fanzone was on the Dean’s List and was an active member of Young Democrats. After graduation, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he worked for Cycle Architecture & Planning in Manhattan for almost six years. He focused on projects in and around New York City, primarily restaurants and arts and entertainment venues. Mr. Fanzone also collaborated on projects in Quito, Ecuador; Mendoza, Argentina; and the Proyecto Paladar, an artistic experiment in cultural diplomacy designed for the 11th Havana (Cuba) Biennial in May 2012. His love of travel, craft, music, food and people enriched his design solutions, as well as all who came in contact with him. Survivors include his partner and love, Victoria J. “Tory” Hanabury (Col ’09), a brother and sister and his parents.
