Lynn Rhea Hammond (Col ’38) of Roanoke, Virginia, died Jan. 15, 2015. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. At the University, he was a member of the golf team and Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity. After graduating, he studied photolithography processes at Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon) and returned to his hometown of Roanoke to implement the innovative techniques at his family’s business, Hammond’s Printing and Litho Works. An avid photographer, he developed extensive collections of photos of local scenery, wildflowers, mushrooms and more. Survivors include four sons, including Lynn R.
