Kurt Jesperson Hilburger (Col ’16) of Williamsburg, Virginia, died Sept. 30, 2015. At the University, he lived in Brown Residential College for three years and was an active member of that community, serving on the governing board. He was pursuing an interdisciplinary major in archaeology and anthropology. Survivors include his parents.
Margaret Lowe (Col ’16 L/M) of Nashville, Tennessee, died Sept. 1, 2015. She was pursuing a classics major at the University and planned to attend medical school. Ms. Lowe was involved in many activities in the University and Charlottesville community. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Inter-Sorority Council, volunteered with Madison House and co-chaired the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team (ADAPT). She loved being outdoors and participated in Bike & Build in 2014 and 2015, biking across the United States to promote affordable housing and raise funds for its cause. Survivors include her parents and two brothers.
