UVA grads show off creativity with custom mortarboards

A little rain didn’t stop nearly 4,000 graduates from parading down the Lawn to celebrate Final Exercises on May 18, 2024. The group gathered at the Rotunda, balloons and umbrellas in hand, to begin their processional.

Every year, a few ’Hoos decide to get crafty and turn their graduation caps into personal canvases expressing messages of hope, celebration and gratitude.
