Natalie Marie Shea (Col ’18 CM) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died Sep. 28, 2020. At UVA, she pursued her interest in anthropology, but also developed an affinity for Russian language and history. She graduated magna cum laude with a double major in anthropology and Slavic culture and language. Her dedication and academic achievements resulted in her induction into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She loved travel, and her adventures included two solo trips to Central and Eastern Europe. That love of travel also led her to a job organizing study-abroad programs for universities and businesses at WorldStrides. She enjoyed cooking and was a lover of international foods—the hotter and spicier the better. She was a self-taught baker, could pickle anything, and made a great Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole. Survivors include her parents, Jennifer and John Shea (Engr class of ’88); siblings Jack Shea (Engr ’20 CM) and Lucy; her grandparents; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
