Julie Peavyhouse Melnyk (Grad class of ’93) of Columbia, Missouri, died Dec. 22, 2017. She earned her doctorate from the University after attending Haverford College and Oxford University for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as a respected scholar and teacher of English literature at Central Methodist University and, later, the University of Missouri, Columbia. Survivors include her husband, Andrew; two sons; her sister; and her mother.
