Johanna Louisa Noia (Com ’83 CM) of Leesburg, Virginia, died Jan. 14, 2024. She received her bachelor’s degree in finance from UVA and started her career as a financial service analyst for Marriott Hotels before moving to KPMG, where she made lifelong friends. She also worked at the American Red Cross. She often volunteered with her children’s schools and found herself forming friendships with the other women in the neighborhood. In her free time, she enjoyed taking family vacations to national parks. She also loved going to the beach, her favorite of which was in Corolla, North Carolina, where she and her husband had a second house. She was a lifelong UVA sports fan. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Stephen; two children, including Michael S. Mace (Engr ’20 CM); two siblings, including Alan J. Noia (Engr ’69 CM); and many nieces and nephews.Marianne Blash Tereszcuk (Col class of ’85) of Los Angeles died March 27, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from UVA. She received her degree while raising two elementary school students and was grateful to be able to do her homework together with them. She was an award-winning photographer and an avid gardener. She loved traveling with her family and marked her children’s birthdays with tropical vacations. When her grandson was born in July 2014, she and her husband moved to Los Angeles to spend every day with him. Survivors include her husband of more than 50 years, Alex; her daughter and son; and her grandson.
