As of Aug. 31, it had received more than 449,000 gifts and pledges, including 1,233 of at least $100,000 and 113 of at least $1 million

More than 77,000 alumni have contributed to the campaign

Five Largest Gifts to U.Va.

Frank Batten Sr. (Col ’50)

$100 million, the largest single gift in the University’s history to create the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.

David A. Harrison III (Col ’39, Law ’41)

$64 million, mostly for endowed professorships in law and medicine. In 20 years, the University will also receive proceeds from a trust in excess of $50 million.

The Estate of Ward Buchanan

$52.6 million to establish an unrestricted endowment fund for the University Medical Center.

John W. Kluge

The historic Morven Farm and other real estate (7,379 acres spread across 11 farms and estates in southeastern Albemarle County) valued at $45 million.

The Ivy Foundation

$45 million to expand the U.Va. Health System, supporting new facilities for clinical research and patient care in the areas of cancer and children’s health.
