Search for Sandridge’s successor under way

The University of Virginia has officially posted the job of longtime executive vice president and chief operating officer Leonard Sandridge.  Sandridge will retire in July after a 44-year career at the university, including more than 20 years at his current position.

The head of the university’s search committee, McIntire School of Commerce Dean Carl Zeithami, said Monday in an e-mail to the university community that the school has hired a search firm and has posted the full position description online.

The executive vice president will supervise the university’s financial affairs, and advises the Board of Visitors and the president on all financial matters. Other duties include overseeing buildings and grounds, human resources, institutional compliance, public safety and foundations and related enterprises.
