List of National Championships won by the Cavaliers

Virginia has won a total of 19 team national championships in the last 72 years.

  • Boxing: 1938
  • Women’s Indoor Track & Field: 1981
  • Women’s Cross Country: 1981 and 1982
  • Men’s Lacrosse: 1952, 1970, 1972, 1999, 2003 and 2006
  • Women’s Lacrosse: 1991, 1993 and 2004
  • Men’s Soccer: 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 2009

Midfielder Tony Tchani helped lead the men’s soccer team to the 2009 NCAA national championship.
