Looks like the people have spoken! Keep the tradition alive.
Remember how we used to fear “creeping State U-ism”? Let’s honor our traditions.
I like that we uphold traditions, and traditions can be good but we gotta rep UVA with some orange. Mix it up a little, and go crazy. I want to be the school that jumps so hard at the stadiums the building shakes.
Blue sports coats and orange slacks or the reverse (and similar garb for women) are perfectly acceptable while keeping the tradition alive. Leave the buffoonery to schools in the Big Eleven!
I went to a large state university for my first year of college before transferring to UVA, so I’ve seen the contrast firsthand, and believe me, the character, tradition, uniqueness, and pride that we have at UVA beats the mass culture of faceless “state U” any day!
