June E-newsletter Contest: Who Am I?
I was the editor of the Virginia Quarterly Review for more than three decades, during which time I was one of few women to head a national literary journal. Who am I?
I am Charlotte Kohler (Grad ’33). In my 33 years at the VQR, I was a champion of Southern letters, publishing works by Eudora Welty, James Dickey, Reynolds Price, Allen Tate and Peter Taylor.
Congratulations to Sandy Gilliam (Col ’55), whose name was chosen at random from the readers who correctly identified this photo in our June 2010 e-newsletter. He wins a $25 U.Va. Bookstore gift certificate.
