Kevin Crawford Flattery (Col ’10) of Alexandria, Virginia, died Aug. 30, 2014. At the University, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and T.I.L.K.A. He was a passionate filmmaker active in the U.Va. film community who worked in film editing and postproduction in Los Angeles and New York City. Survivors include his father, Don Flattery (Com ’75 L/M), his mother and a sister. Memorial contributions to benefit University film and art students may be made to the Kevin C. Hunter N. Smith (Col ’15) of Blacksburg, Virginia, died Dec. 17, 2014. At the University, he studied mathematics and environmental sciences, served as a lifeguard at North Grounds Recreation Center, and was a member of the gymnastics club team and the Virginia Acrobatics Club. Each Halloween, he dressed as Peter Pan and gave impromptu acrobatic performances on the silks at Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. Mr. Smith was generous with his time and knowledge, serving as a University math tutor and an unofficial tutor to many fellow students. He studied and spoke multiple languages, including Chinese, Hindi, Hebrew and Spanish. He enjoyed spontaneous singing, karaoke and grabbing a burger at Boylan Heights. Survivors include his parents and a younger brother.

Peter D’Agostino (Col ’17) of Greenwich, Connecticut, died Nov. 20, 2014. At the University, he was a member of the Association Council and the alpine ski and snowboard team. A member of the student improv comedy group The Whethermen, Mr. D’Agostino was known for his sense of humor, quick wit and dance moves. He was also very fond of the Special Collections Library on Grounds. Survivors include his parents.
