Latham B. Murray (Med ’81 L/M) of Earlysville, Va., died Nov. 29, 2009. At the University, he was a member of St. Elmo Hall fraternity. Dr. Murray was an attending surgeon at Mary Imogene Hospital and later at Memorial Hospital in Easton, Md., before joining the medical staff at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville in 1995. He was a member of CRL Surgical & Radiology Associates in Charlottesville. At Martha Jefferson Hospital, Dr. Murray served on the board of trustees and was the chair of the foundation board.

Cynthia Caldwell Weglicki
(Law ’81 L/M) of Washington, D.C., died Dec. 29, 2009. In 1982, she became the assistant attorney general for Oklahoma City and an attorney with Crowe & Dunlevy. Later, Ms. Weglicki was an attorney with the Plan Benefits Security Division of the Department of Labor for more than 20 years.

Jon Marc Del Vitto Jr.
(Col ’82 L/M) of Charlottesville died Dec. 31, 2009. He worked for Bank of America, Citibank and Merrill Lynch, among other institutions. Mr. Del Vitto was a certified financial analyst and a chartered alternative investment analyst. Most recently, he worked with the U.S. Department of Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, as a commissioned national bank examiner. Survivors include his wife, Carol Del Vitto (Col ’83, Educ ’13 A/M).

Larry Shireman (Educ ’82) of Plymouth, Ind., died Sept. 23, 2009. He was an architect before he went into education. Mr. Shireman was a teacher, psychologist, coordinator and sponsor at Osbourn Senior High School in Manassas, Va., for 26 years. He taught sailing to underprivileged young people in Annapolis.

Jeanne Louise Quann (Educ ’82 A/M) of Salt Lake City died Oct. 10, 2009. She taught at Kennedy Junior High School in Salt Lake City. Survivors include her husband, Christopher B. Quann (Arch ’96 A/M).

William Harrison Jr. (Grad ’83 A/M) of Richmond, Va., died Dec. 8, 2009. He worked in the commercial real estate title industry with the former Lawyers Title/LandAmerica and most recently with First American Corp. in Washington, D.C.

David Clinton Mason (Engr’85 L/M) of Dallas died Nov. 26, 2009. He worked as a customer support engineer for Genband of Plano, Texas, offering administrator for IBM and lead engineer at Transat Technologies of Dallas. Mr. Mason most recently worked at Bridgewater Systems of Ontario, Canada, as a professional services consultant. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Renee Weaver Johansen (GSBA ’88) of Morristown, Pa., died Dec. 6, 2009. At the University, she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. An investor relations and finance professional, Ms. Johansen worked for the CSX Co. and Wheat/First in Richmond, Va., before moving to Memphis, Tenn., where she worked for Thomas and Betts Co. as vice president of investor relations. In 2000, she joined Avon Products in New Jersey, where she served as vice president of investor relations for almost 10 years. She was a chartered financial analyst and a member of the CFA Institute.

Joel Johnston Correia
(Col ’89) of Dickinson, Texas, died Jan. 7, 2010. He practiced law in Galveston County for several years and was in private practice in Bacliff, Texas, until recently.
