Congrats to Stephen Fry (Col '84, Med '90) for correctly guessing that the above image is a shot of the buttons on Jefferson's jacket on the life-size marble statue of Jefferson carved by Alexander Galt. The statue, usually housed in the Rotunda, is on temporary display at the Harrison Institute while the Rotunda undergoes extensive renovations.
Congrats to Casey Stein (Col '10) for correctly guessing that the above image is a shot of the library stacks.
Congrats to Erin Garratt (Col '11) for correctly guessing that this is a detail of one of the stained glass windows in the chapel.
Congrats to Amy Rodgers (Col '14) for correctly answering that the above image is a shot of the wrestling mat in Memorial Gymnasium.
"Give about 2 hours everyday to exercise, for health must not be sacrificed to learning. A strong body makes the mind strong."
Jefferson's quote on exercise appears over the doorway to the court at Memorial Gym. It also appears over the welcome desk at the AFC.
Congratulations to Acacia Dai (Col '17) who correctly answered November's "Where Am I?" challenge!
This photo was submitted by Jason Hoyle (Col '99). Jason writes:
Though the UVA football team had a rough time against Clemson this weekend, my wife and son had a great time at Alumni Hall.
I thought I would submit this photo since it really captures the spirit of what it means to be a Wahoo.
My wife, Dr. Joanna Hoyle, DVM and I (Jason Hoyle) graduated from the College in 1999. We were both lawn residents (where we met on lawn selection night in 1998) and are Wahoos through and through. We now live in Maryland and try to bring our kids to at least one football game each year. This past weekend was our one trip down to UVA this year. Our children are Jacob Hoyle (2 and 1/2) (depicted in the photo) and Julia Hoyle 16 months.
I have never submitted a picture before to any media outlet but felt compelled to do so after seeing the joy in both my wife's and son's faces after snapping this photo while he was riding around on her back at the tailgate at Alumni Hall.
Eric Cunningham, Jordan Levy and Pat Harvey as Mario and Luigi and Wario. Eric says, "I lived in 29 West and Jordan was in 27 West, so we would play daily matches on MarioKart64. [This picture] is wildly unflattering."
