The school is named for Bob Schieffer, CBS correspondent and moderator of “Face The Nation.”  Mr.  Lumpkin is a vice president and former bureau chief of the Associated Press,  responsible for newspaper markets in the U.S. and Latin America and for AP revenue from newspaper companies in the hemisphere as well as the U.S. domestic bureau chief system. He has held company positions in strategic planning and has been involved in AP’s shift to multimedia news distribution. He previously worked with the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram before joining AP. Mr. Lumpkin has received many professional awards and is a member of the Inter-American Press Association and a former director of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. The company received an award from PreservationMass, a Massachusetts preservation advocacy organization, for its rehabilitation of the former Davis & Sargent Building in Lowell, Mass., into energy efficient, sustainable modern office space. Mr. Sours taught mathematics and computer science at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., before becoming an administrator. He was the executive vice president and dean at Ferrum College, Ferrum, Va., and most recently was the president of William Penn University, Oskaloosa, Iowa. On June 9, he spoke to the Louisville Employee Benefits Council on re-employment rights for Reservists and military medical leave.
