      <description>James R. Bean (Col ’70 L/M) is president of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and presided over the AANS Annual Meeting in San Diego May 4&#45;6. Following the meeting, he became past president of AANS, a group of which he has been a member since 1988. Dr. Bean is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He has published numerous journal articles and book chapters.</description>

      <description>Arthur H. Friedman (Col ’70 L/M) retired from Exelon Corporation, the largest operator of nuclear power plants in the United States, where he was vice president, nuclear training. Mr. Friedman had previously spent more than 21 years in nuclear training at Dominion Virginia Power. He had recently received the American Nuclear Society’s Robert L. Long Training Excellence Award for career contributions to his field. Mr. Friedman had also been a professor and administrator with the Virginia Community College System and a systems analyst for the Life Insurance Company of Virginia.</description>

Her son and daughter live in Pennsylvania and she is a grandmother to a 22&#45;month old grandson, Gavin.</description>
