      <description>Jane Arnold (Educ ’55 A/M) retired after 21 years of teaching in Pinellas County, Fla., and 17 years in the Grossmont High School district in San Diego County, Calif. She served as one of 51 delegates for the United States to the World Confederation of the Organization of the Teaching Profession in Seoul, Korea in 1966 and in Vancouver in 1967. In California, she coached a speech and debate team and later became a diamond key coach of the National Forensic League.</description>

The award is presented to the owner, architect or contractor of a project that exemplifies a profound effort and sensitivity in preserving a domestic residence.</description>

      <description>Gene Crotty (Com ’55, GSBA ’57 L/M) is on the board of directors of the Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society, Inc., a non&#45;profit foundation formed to define and defent the legacy of Thomas Jefferson. Mr. Crotty is a local historian, author and retired professor. Mr. Crotty served on the faculties of U.Va., Georgia Tech, UNC, University of Texas and Texas A&amp;amp;M. He has authored three books: Jefferson’s Legacy: His Own University, Visits of Lewis and Clark to Fincastle, Virginia, Jefferson’s Western Travels and Th. Jefferson Trivia: The Many Facets of a Fascinating Man.</description>
