Bryan M. Antler (Com ’06) graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in May 2015. He plans to start his own law firm in southern California, focusing on civil violations of mentally disabled people.

Liz Masci Busch (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Brian, welcomed a son, Henry William, on Oct. 15, 2015. Henry joins sisters Audrey, 6, and Caroline, 4. The family lives in West Springfield, Virginia, where Ms. Busch is a teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools.

Steven A. Cholewiak (Col ’06) and his wife, Sara, welcomed a daughter, Cora Anne, on June 16, 2015. Mr. Cholewiak is a postdoctoral scholar in the department of psychology at Justus Liebig University Giessen in Giessen, Germany, where he works in vision science. He will begin a second postdoctoral position in the department of optometry at the University of California, Berkeley, in October.
Catherine Donnellan (Col ’06 L/M) and Kevin Sanders were married Nov. 14, 2015, in Memphis, Tennessee. The couple plans to settle in Memphis after Dr. Sanders completes her pediatric pulmonology fellowship in June 2016.
Nicholas Joseph (Col ’06) and Lillian Gumz were married on June 13, 2015, at St. Matthew’s Church in Bedford, New York. The couple lives in New York City, where Mr. Joseph is a senior analyst at Citi and Ms. Joseph is a school counselor at The Nightingale-Bamford School.
Kalin Kanov (Col ’06 L/M) and Teodora Mihaylova (Col ’09 L/M) were married on May 24, 2014, in Charlottesville. Mr. Kanov is completing his doctorate in computer science at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and the couple plans to relocate to New York City, where he will work for Bloomberg as a software engineer.
Sarah Lawson (Col ’06) has been named assistant director of the Virginia Center for the Book, a program of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. In addition to coordinating literacy efforts across the commonwealth, she will help to coordinate the Virginia Festival of the Book, held each March in Charlottesville. Ms. Lawson previously worked with the Building Goodness Foundation and served as executive director of the Piedmont Council for the Arts, two other Charlottesville-based nonprofit organizations.
Erin Eaheart Liss (Col ’06, Educ ’06) and her husband, Casey, welcomed a son, Declan James, on Oct. 29, 2014. The family resides in Richmond, Virginia.

Erin Gray McDonald (Educ ’06) and her husband, Jeremy, welcomed a son, Henry George, on Oct. 28, 2014. Ms. McDonald was recently named assistant dean of students at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina.
Margaret H. “Meg” McEvoy (Col ’06) and Gregory P. Proseus were married Sept. 26, 2015, at Aquia Church in Stafford, Virginia. Ms. McEvoy is an associate attorney at the law firm of Compton & Duling and Mr. Proseus is counsel to U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. The couple lives in Prince William County, Virginia.
Brittany Perham (Grad ’06) was selected by Claudia Rankine to win the 2016 Barnard Women Poets Prize for her book, Double Portrait. Perham is a Jones Lecturer in the creative writing program at Stanford University. “It is a huge honor that Double Portrait was chosen by Claudia Rankine,” she says, noting that she taught Rankine’s work in three classes in the past year. Perham describes the poems in her collection as investigations of the relationship to an “other,” linking portraits of lover and beloved, citizen and country, living and dead. As such, she says, “[t]he poems find forms that prioritize mirroring and refrain.” She is currently working on a manuscript of linked prose poems and a memoir-in-essays about managing her relationship to her father (and his legal and financial affairs) after his death.
Wes Petticrew (Com ’06) and Lizzie Ferreri Petticrew (Col ’07, Educ ’07 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Josephine Virginia, on Feb. 22, 2015. The family lives in Portland, Oregon.
Elizabeth Dubin Pugatch (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Alexander Pugatch (Com ’06 L/M), welcomed their second child, a daughter, Caroline Reese, on July 12, 2016. The family lives in Armonk, New York.
Daniel Redding (Col ’06) has been promoted to director in the law firm of Middleton Reutlinger in Louisville, Kentucky, where he is a member of the litigation and intellectual property litigation practice groups. He represents clients in a broad range of business disputes, with a particular focus on patent infringement litigation.
Lindsay Mott Rosti (Arch ’06 L/M) and Andrew S. Rosti (Col ’06 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Harper Bennett, on Nov. 15, 2015. Harper joins sister London, 2. The family lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Daniel Stillwell (Col ’06) earned a doctorate in family therapy from St. Louis University in the spring of 2015. He wrote his dissertation on the ability of marriage and family therapists from around the U.S. to meet the spiritual needs of their clients. He is an associate professor at Hope International University in Anaheim, California, where his teaching focuses on blending mental health, science, faith and education.
Christina Manning Sursa (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Charles D. Sursa (Com ’06 L/M), welcomed a son, Cameron Jackson, on April 8, 2016. Cameron joins brother Charlie, 2, and is the grandson of Charles V. Sursa (Darden ’83 L/M) and Claudia Beebe Sursa (Nurs ’79 L/M), and the great-grandson of Waldo Beebe (Col ’48). The family lives in Falls Church, Virginia.
Corinne Shabe Whisler (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Brant, welcomed a son, Tripton “Trip” Fenwick, on Oct. 14, 2015. Ms. Whisler has worked for QVC for eight years and recently accepted a position there as senior manager of global merchandise financial planning. In that role she leads the creation and training of financial planning teams in two Asian and four European markets, and leads the global consolidation of merchandise plans and forecasts.
Lydia X. Xu (Com ’06) and Jeffrey M. Zolman were married on June 27, 2015, in Washington, D.C. Ms. Zolman is the director of customer development and operations at Leo Health, a pediatric health care technology company, and Mr. Zolman is the vice president at RFE Investment Partners, a private equity firm in New Canaan, Connecticut. The couple met at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in Manhattan.
