Jennifer Barbour (Col ’03) has been named a director in the law firm of Middleton Reutlinger in Louisville, Kentucky, where she is a member of the health care practice group. Her litigation practice includes malpractice defense in medicine and long-term care. She represents hospitals, doctors, nursing homes and health care organizations in lawsuits involving claims of negligence, abuse and neglect, violation of residents’ rights, breach of contract and wrongful death. Ms. Barbour also advises health care organizations on regulatory matters, including health care privacy, security law and licensure.
Allison Wiley Boulais (Col ’03 L/M) and Ryan Walter Boulais (Engr ’04 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Lillian Belle, on Sept. 2, 2015. Lillian joins brother Andrew Ryan and is the niece of David Allen Wiley (Col ’00). The family lives in Richmond, Virginia. Both Mr. and Ms. Boulais work for General Electric, where he has been named an executive director of IT security.
Alison Brosnan (Col ’03) and Patrick McKenna were married on Jan. 31, 2015, in Brooklyn, New York. The couple lives in Brooklyn, where Ms. McKenna works at Covenant House International and Mr. McKenna works at Hunter College.
D. Matthew Coleman (Col ’03, Darden ’11 L/M) and D. Christine Shayesteh were married on July 16, 2016, at the Legion of Honor near their home in San Francisco, California. Ms. Shayesteh is a personal counselor at San Francisco’s Immaculate Conception Academy and is founder and CEO of Sol Sisters. Mr. Coleman is a weather risk analyst at hedge fund Nephila Advisors.
Lindsey Magerkurth Cote (Col ’03) and her husband, Tyler, welcomed a daughter, Katherine Ada, on May 9, 2016. Katherine joins brothers Dylan, 5, and Bryant, 3. The family lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ashley Dyke (Col ’03) is appearing in the movie The Hollars, which opened on September 2, 2016. A graduate of UVA’s drama program, she also portrayed Anna in the 2013 film 12 Years a Slave.
Kirsten Dodd Francis (Col ’03 L/M) and Spencer Francis (Engr ’03 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Adry Virginia, on April 25, 2014. Adry joins sisters Lane Margaret, 5; and Nora Mackenzie, 3.
Harris S. Freier (Col ’03 L/M) and Lily Morris Freier (Col ’05 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Georgia Grace, on Dec. 16, 2014. The family resides in Cranford, New Jersey. Georgia is the granddaughter of Jerold L. Freier (Col ’67 L/M) and James T. Morris (Col ’73).
John Gekas (Law ’03) has received the Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service from the United States District Court in conjunction with the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is a partner and a member of the litigation practice group in the Chicago office of Arnstein & Lehr. Mr. Gekas also serves on the board of directors of Housing Opportunities for Women, an organization dedicated to permanent solutions for poverty and homelessness.
