University of Virginia President Teresa A. Sullivan focused on progress and potential on Tuesday when she sat down with local media outlets for the first time since this summer’s university leadership crisis. She also said she’s hopeful about the performance of the University’s board.
She praised the board’s willingness to address issues such as transparency, and its new committee on governance and engagement.
“And you know the co-chairs of that committee have both reached out to me to talk to them,” she said. “And so I think that there’s going to be an effort to think through, not just the issues of process, but also the rules by which the board governs itself. So I see room for optimism there.”
